Watching the first leg of the UEFA Men's Champions League semifinal between FC Barcelona and Inter Milan this evening, I remember watching the second leg of their Champions League semifinal just over fifteen years ago, on 28 April 2010. Eight days earlier, Inter had won the first leg in Milan, 3-1. For the second leg in Barcelona, Inter trainer Jose Mourinho had his team play nothing but defense, especially after Thiago Motta was sent off in the first half. Barcelona attacked and attacked but only managed to score a goal in the 84th minute (Gerard Piqué). The match was not aesthetically satisfying—unlike this evening's match, which is thrilling so far.
