In her Letter from an American for 20 June 2026, Heather Cox Richardson writes of United States President Donald Trump that he "has become accustomed to simply describing his fantasy world and expecting that others will agree they see it." When I read that, I thought it was nice to see something formulated so simply that I have been putting more indirectly since two days after the election on 5 November 2024, when I first wrote about Trump by imagining him as "Don Q," a spin on Don Quijote. My many Don Q posts all circle around how Trump sees what he wants to see, just like that fictional Spanish knight. (Andrew Shields, #111Words, 21 June 2026)
