Andrea was quizzing Sara on a test for tomorrow; one question was how to define a galaxy, which she did very well, adding that the black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy is called Sagittarius A*. She wondered if she'd get extra credit if she included that on the test. Right away, though, she went on to say that it didn't matter; after all, not only is that black hole fascinating, it also has a great name. This immediately struck me as what teachers hope for: their students should see the material as both a way to get credit on a test and as something fascinating in itself.
