"Hanni und Nanni", Christine Hartmann's 2010 film based on "The Twins at St. Clare's", Enid Blyton's 1940s children's books, begins in a mall with Hanni (Sophia Münster) racing around with her field-hockey stick and a ball to break a school record. When Hanni and her twin sister Nanni (Sophia's twin Jana) celebrate Hanni's success, they're wearing green and red Converse All Stars: green on Hanni's left foot and red on her right, while Nanni's are the other way around. When I watched the film with my daughters in the early 2010s, I wanted something like that, but I only got around to wearing matching shoes in different colors many years later.
