Years ago, we had a series of electric kettles that always stopped working pretty soon. So about seven or eight years ago, I spent a bit more on a kettle that worked until a few days ago. So on Wednesday, I bought a new kettle that cost even more, hoping that it will survive even longer than the previous one. Little did I know that I could have followed the wisdom of Boris Johnson and purchased a kettle for £20 that would save me £10 on my electric bill per year.
