I started my blog andrewjshields on 11 January 2006 and posted to it over 3000 times in the 7163 days from then until my last post on it on 22 August 2025. I was very active from 2006 to 2010, when, as with so many bloggers, Facebook and Twitter became the focus of my attention. Then, from 2020 to the present, I began posting my 111-word texts to the blog. Now, after a two-week break from writing my daily prose, I'm moving from Blogspot to Ghost. Ghost offers an open-source, non-profit alternative to the Alphabet-owned Blogspot and the often dodgy Substack. And of course I'm calling my Ghost newsletter 111 Words.
