On 6 September 2025, I started posting to my new Ghost newsletter rather than my old Blogpost blog. Today, Ghost has transferred all the posts from the andrewjshields blog to the 111 Words newsletter—all the way back to 2006. In his ongoing discussion of the enshittification of the internet, Cory Doctorow has drawn attention to the lack of "interoperability" with such interfaces as Facebook or Twitter, which make it difficult or impossible to transfer your data to another interface. Ghost makes that possible for a blog—and it would be great to have an alternative that enabled Facebook users to transfer their social-media history and connections to a non-profit provider. (Andrew Shields, #111Words, 15 October 2025)
