When I was at the Prado Museum in Madrid on 9 August, I wanted to take a picture of "El cardenal" (ca. 1510), by Rafael, but a guard quickly told me no photographs were allowed. So I just kept a list of the paintings that I would have taken pictures of. I was a bit surprised that the museum didn't allow visitors to photograph the paintings, especially after the Louvre allowed photographs when I was there in July. And every other museum I visited in Spain did allow photographs, so now I have many pictures to go through and see if I have something I want to write up about them.
