After I moved to Europe in the summer of 1991, I only saw The Grateful Dead four more times: three times at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island (31 March to 2 April 1993, with Barney the Dinosaur pretending to play bass on "Iko Iko" on April Fool's Day), and once at the Philadelphia Spectrum (18 March 1995). Since Jerry Garcia died on 9 August 1995, I have only seen any members of the band once: while visiting my father in Berkeley for Christmas, I took my son Miles (then 12 years old) to see Furthur with Phil Lesh and Bob Weir at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium on 29 December 2011.
