Andrea and I left our friends' house at 7 am and walked through the snow in Berlin Tegel to catch a bus to the Berlin Spandau station. On the bus, I discovered that our train to Basel had been cancelled. We first thought we would have to wait two hours to leave Berlin, but then we caught a train to Frankfurt that actually left earlier than our scheduled train would have. On the way to Frankfurt, the train was delayed several times, but it finally got there. We had to wait another hour to catch a train to Basel, but somehow we got home at 6 pm—only two hours late! (Andrew Shields, #111words, 26January 2026)
