Just now, hearing "Black Water" by The Doobie Brothers for the first time in ages (from their album "What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits"), I remembered a bus trip at a 1978 summer camp, with several other campers and I sitting in the back and singing the end of that song for minutes on end: "Old black water, keep on rolling, Mississippi moon, won't you keep on shining on me?" and "I'd like to hear some funky Dixieland / Pretty mama, come and take me by the hand / By the hand, hand, take me by the hand, pretty mama / Come and dance with your daddy all night long."
