Today, I finished two days of work as the "expert" for English final exams for the Matura diploma at the Gymnasium Bäumlihof in Basel. I have been part of the exams there since 2015, and I enjoy interacting with the students and the teachers (many of whom were once my students at the English Department at the University of Basel). In the most memorable exam over the years, a student spent the whole fifteen minutes enthusiastically discussing the lyrics of a song by Kendrick Lamar, whose work he had chosen not because he was a fan but because he was curious about it.
