The oldest rejections in my file of poetry submissions are from November 1995. In the 30-plus years since then, I have had 897 submissions rejected, which comes to almost 30 rejections per year. I have had 153 journals accept and publish one or more of my poems, with 275 poems published in all, which comes to just over nine published poems a year. That's all fun to count up, but what I like best of all about my thirty-page Word document with all that information in it is not only that I first created it back in November 1995 but that I have been actively using it for all that time.
