During our weekend in Paris, before my daughter Sara, her friend Anastasija, and I arrived at the room in the Louvre with "La Giocanda", by Leonardo da Vinci, I spent a few minutes in front of "Nozze di Cana", by Paolo Veronese (1528-1588). I was first struck by the musicians who are front and center in the painting, and then by two dogs lying and sitting in front of them. A moment later, I laughed to see a little dog up on the table on the right side of the painting, and for the rest of my visit to all those galleries of paintings, I kept noticing dogs in the pictures.
